Butyl Tape For Roofing

1. Fleece Roofing Tape Overview

Butyl Tape For Roofing is a single-sided butyl membrane backed with non-woven fleece and cross-linked polymer film. The fleece face supports finishing while the rubber layer seals around small punctures.

2. Roof Adhesion Test Results

3. Plasterable Waterproof Layer

Non-woven backing can accept compatible coatings or plaster and protects the tacky butyl during service. The membrane remains flexible enough to follow limited joint movement.

4. Roof And Facade Uses

Roofing uses include penetrations, facade interfaces and mixed mineral or metal substrates represented in the adhesion table. The source also states performance in moist conditions and low temperatures without numeric limits.

5. Fleece Tape Installation

Prepare a stable base, cut sufficient overlap, expose the liner progressively and roll the fleece-backed membrane down. Confirm that the planned finish bonds to the non-woven face.

6. Substrate Bond Checks

Check adhesion on the actual substrate, not only stainless steel. Record fleece integrity, gauge, width, roll length, edge finish and the 23 ± 2°C test condition.

7. Roofing Roll Conversion

Flexible sizing is mentioned, but exact ranges are absent from the excerpt. Request finished dimensions, facing weight, liner, carton format and project finish.

8. Butyl Roofing Tape FAQ

Why use fleece instead of foil? Fleece can accept compatible finishing layers.

Are all substrate results equal? No. The table ranges from 41 to 55 N/25 mm.

Is the 20-year durability statement unconditional? No test basis is shown; obtain supporting data.

Roofing procurement increasingly specifies both the adhesive substrate and the finish applied over fleece.
