Reflective Aluminium Butyl Tape
1. Reflective Repair Brief
An exposed aluminium face provides reflectivity, abrasion resistance and weather protection over a butyl waterproofing layer for roofs, walls, gutters, flashing, RVs and sunrooms.
2. Recorded Test Matrix
| Gauge limits | 0.5 mm minimum and 1.5 mm maximum |
|---|---|
| JIS-based stainless result | Fifty newtons measured across a 25 mm specimen at 180 degrees |
| Shear-direction figure | Forty-three newtons per square centimetre |
| Hanging-piece duration | 110 minutes with 200 g on a 10 mm by 20 mm contact |
| Extension result | Nine percent under the cited JIS method |
| Stated placement climate | From -20°C up to +90°C |
| Required substrate state | Clean, dry and free of dust |
3. Exposed Barrier Uses
An exposed aluminium face provides reflectivity, abrasion resistance and weather protection over a butyl waterproofing layer for roofs, walls, gutters, flashing, RVs and sunrooms.
4. Foil Roll Placement
Foil lamination, butyl coating and liner control produce a cold-applied roll. Select coverage width, peel the liner and repeatedly roll the surface to remove air and secure edges.
5. Two-Layer Qualification
Match every result to the ordered thickness and resolve any adhesive-description inconsistency in supporting documents. Test UV exposure, thermal cycling, corrosion staining and water entry.
6. Flashing Order Inputs
Define foil finish, gauge, width, length, substrate and carton plan. Request the exact grade report before approving a construction order.

8. Layer-Review Trend
Exposed flashing projects increasingly review both foil durability and adhesive data because failure can begin in either layer.
