3. Half-Lap Wrap Method
The PIB tape insulates and protects rubber or plastic cable joints and terminations. Stretching reduces the width to one-half or two-thirds, and successive turns overlap 50% to build a void-free layer.
4. Interleaf And Fusion
A removable interleaf keeps the self-amalgamating surface separate on the roll. Controlled gauge and elongation allow wrapping without snapping and promote rapid fusion.
